Help Winnie Get the Care She Desperately Needs

Winnie started her life born to a breeder that sells their pups to the pet store in the mall. You know the kind where you can see the babies in the window laying in sawdust. She was purchased as a Christmas gift for an older woman who lived in the upper floors of an apartment building. The lady only had her 2 months before she gave her to the management office worker of the building because she couldn't take her outside enough. So at only 5 months old, Winnie was in her 4th home. A foster situation with a kind-hearted soul who was already caring for 4 other animals and worked full time. Winnie spent most of her days in a kennel mainly while foster mom looked for an adopter. When I saw her up for adoption, I was the 2nd to step forward. The 1st dragged her feet for another 3 weeks until I got the call. I went immediately to the pup to introduce her to my elder dog and see if she could be a good match for my household. The foster mom seemed frazzled and desperate to have Winnie adopted. When I asked if she could spend a night at my house, the foster mom sent her with me with every possession that belonged to Winnie. I knew then that I had to make things work because Winnie really needed someone. Fortunately, she was a dream. She loved my dog and would follow him everywhere. He taught her how to be a happy and good dog, and they had 9 wonderful months together before my elder passed. Winnie was integral in helping me through his death. I could focus on her playful puppiness to brighten the days. She learned some commands and grew. We went on adventures, and she met everyone at work. For 2 years, she was healthy and thriving. Then suddenly last year, the itching started. I already keep her flea treatments up, so I tried all of the supplements and changed her diet, but nothing helped. Eventually, it was skin infections and hair loss. I took her to her vet, steroids, and antibiotics. Took her to a specialist; she needed more while they ran other tests. They put her on Apoquel, and it did very little. Ultimately, it comes down to immunotherapy to hopefully train her histamine response. Her skin is covered in crusted pustules that itch, and I have to keep her in a onesie and a cone to keep her from damaging herself, but it's going to be another infection if I can't move forward with the care she needs. So I'm forced to look for whatever options I have to help her, even surrendering her so she can get the expensive treatments. That would be devastating for me, but I'm hoping it won't have to come to that. In this GoFundMe, you can see how much she is dealing with, and yet she still is so hopeful. When she stares at me, I can see her still believing that I'm gonna make it better again. I've been able to pay for the quick fixes, but the long-term solution is gonna take a miracle. Be our miracle? Could you please help us?
