Help Winnie beat Cancer

UPDATE: Winnie has started her chemotherapy on December 23, 2024. She was a brave girl and made friends with one of the vet assistants who stayed with her the entire time as Winnie asked for pets. She's resting now and we're hoping for a miracle <3.

We adopted Winnie in the heart of the pandemic. As we grew socially isolated from our friends, family, and coworkers, meeting Winnie was a beacon of light. Her playful personality and cuddly caring nature was exactly what we needed to get through those dark days. I remember when we got closer to Christmas and found out we couldn't celebrate it with our extended families, seeing Winnie frolic in the snow for the first time lifted our spirits more than we could've imagined. She always knows what we need, some energy, or a quiet snuggle in bed. She has quickly become our buddy: camping, hiking, running, and road tripping with us. When our daughter was born last year, Winnie quickly adopted the role of a big sister, caring and protecting her at all costs.

Approximately 3 weeks ago, we noticed that Winnie had blood in her stool. After the stool sample came back clear, an ultrasound revealed our possible worst fear: Our 3 year old furry baby has lymphoma cancer with a tumor in her colon. The consultation with an Oncologist at Boundary Bay Animal Specialty Hospital gave us hope, as we were told that with an aggressive course of chemotherapy, Winnie could go into remission and have many years ahead of her (without treatment she would have a few weeks). To get the diagnosis has cost us ~$6000. I've attached the receipt for our appointment at Boundary Bay Specialty hospital, the cost of our vet was divided into several meetings.

The chemotherapy is quoted at $5000/round for 4 rounds.

Asking for money is something that is really difficult for us but a few people expressed interest in contributing and requested a go fund me page. I know Winnie is loved by a lot and we wanted to share her news with her community. Thank you in advance for considering helping us save our little pup! All updates on how she's doing will be posted on this page.
