Help for Winnie Barry

I’m starting this fundraiser for my 1.5-year-old chihuahua, Winnie Barry. He is such a sweet little dog, and this week he was accidentally bumped off the couch by my foster dog and took a terrible tumble. I rushed him to the ER, where he was given pain relief and a bandage, and then I took him to the SF SPCA, where I work, for x-rays. That’s when I learned that Winnie broke his leg in two places. He is currently on a splint, but because of the location of the break, surgery is the best option for him to heal properly. He will need surgery with a specialist and a plate placed in his leg, because this type of surgery cannot be done in-house.

I’ve worked in animal welfare for more than 10 years, and I know how important it is to get animals the care they need as quickly as possible. I’m asking for help because the surgery costs are more than I can manage right now, especially after recently using much of my savings on end-of-life care for my senior pets before they passed. Right now, these donations will go directly toward Winnie Barry’s surgery, while follow-up care costs are still unknown.
