Help Winnie Adjust to Her New Life
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Penny and I am fundraising for my sweet, sweet granddog Winnie.
Late in January, Winnie started having problems moving her back legs, to the point she would no longer walk and just uncomfortably slept all day. The lack of movement progressed quickly and on Saturday Jan 29th she lost control of her bowels as well. Over the past few days my daughter Belle has taken her to a vet, an animal chiropractor, a different 2nd vet, and a neurologist. Officially on Feb 2nd she was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and her back legs are paralyzed. She is suffering from a bad UTI and in doggie diapers, Belle was told that she will never be able to walk on all 4 feet again and it is unlikely she will regain control of her bodily functions.
This has been a very difficult time for Belle and the rest of the family. We are devastated at the sudden spiral and change in our lives but joyful that there are ways to help Winnie to still have the quality of life she loves and deserves. Since the diagnosis and starting prescriptions, she is getting her sass back and acting more like herself!
As a teacher living in CA, my daughter Belle makes ends meet but is struggling now with all of the doctor bills, new doggie diapers, prescriptions, and the search for a custom corgi wheelchair for Winnie. I am reaching out to her friends and family and the corgi community to assist her in easing her burden a bit as both Belle and Winnie start to adapt to their new normal. Anything you feel comfortable donating will be greatly appreciated. If you don't feel comfortable make a donation at this time, please send Belle and Winnie some positive energy and joy. We love and appreciate you all!
