Hi, I’m Laura Weise, President of Wings Programs, Inc. board of directors. As many of you know, we recently moved our ranch to Stevensville after 11 years of leasing a property in Corvallis which was sold. Since our lease was not renewed we spent all of 2025 fundraising to buy our own property.
With the help of our community and some very generous donors, we were able to purchase a 10-acre property in Stevensville. Our community came together to help us accomplish a very stressful move, and now we are rebuilding our ranch.
Our new property has minimal infrastructure, with just one shop building that we are using as an office, tool shop and feed room. Our goal is to raise enough money to build a full-size barn as well as a secondary shop, to upgrade our shelters to permanent wood shelters and to provide any other infrastructure that is needed. Downsizing from two large barns has been a challenge and we have been using temporary tents to store everything.
We have already invested in fencing, shelters, frost free water spigots, electrical work, dirt work and many other projects just to get the ranch to the point where we can support our equine residents.
In the midst of all this activity, we took in four new equines from two separate confiscation cases, so our work of supporting the equine rescue community continues.
Your support is essential for the continued success of our mission to provide a safety net for equines and their owners in the Bitterroot Valley. Thank you for your kindness and compassion!
