Help Wilson beat cancer & make it to 4 years old

It’s with a great deal of sadness that I am creating this GoFundMe for my 3 year old Labrador, Wilson. Wilson has just been diagnosed with osteosarcoma (which is horribly painful bone cancer- for those unaware). Shortly after the loss of my brother this past January, I noticed that Wilson was limping pretty badly and he had been seen for a slight ACL tear that just wouldn’t get better. We went in for X rays and were given the news that he would need TPLO surgery to repair his hind leg. I was devastated. He was clearly in pain and this surgery was going to cost $5500! But I just could not bare the thought of losing my puppy after our family had already suffered traumatic loss- and I simply didn’t know what else to do to help him. I lost my high paying bartending job in March of 2020- like many of you, my dear friends. The cost of that surgery was insurmountable for me alone. Thankfully at that time, my dad stepped in and helped me. It was incredible and things were looking up! Wilson began to recover from the surgery on a 3-5 month journey of restricted exercise and medications... Until about 2 days before his 2 month check up. When we got his X rays back, the surgeon called and told me he wanted to send them to a radiologist to look at them because he noticed some darkness in a place it shouldn’t be. Then came the worst. The surgeon said that the x rays show bone cancer. And he even said that in hindsight he should have seen (and the radiologist and another vet- whom I got a second opinion from last week) that in the first months x rays or even prior to surgery it was visible! I can’t begin to tell you how devastated I am to learn that my baby boy- who just turned 3, was getting better, was almost ready to start hiking with me for the summer- is DYING?!?! He limps horribly but looks up at me with those big sweet brown eyes and wags his tail because he wants to play! He wants to chase his ball but I can see it hurts him so badly. I’m absolutely crushed for his pain. If we had known this all 3 months ago prior to the TPLO surgery, we could have amputated the leg then!!! But I’m not even sure we can now. We have to get more X rays, more pain meds and meet with an oncologist next week. Every single visit is hundreds of dollars and each day we wait is more painful and possibilities become limited for his treatment if any. I cannot do this alone. I am a sobbing mess every night and day. So now I am pleading with you to consider helping me help Wilson by donating to his fund.
