Today marks the 9th anniversary of a tragic event that affected the Wilmington and St. Ann's community. On September 24, 2016, a fire resulted in the deaths of three city firefighters: Capt. Chris Leach, Lt. Jerry Fickes, and Lt. Ardythe Hope. A fourth firefighter, Brad Speakman, was seriously injured.
