Help Willow Rebuild After Bike Accident
Donation protected
On July 10th, I was hit by a car while biking in Providence, RI. It launched me off the front of my bicycle, and I landed on my face and hand, breaking my wrist and scarring my face. It was awful! But what has been much, much harder is being unable to work my several jobs while healing. I have been trying my best to maintain income through work I can do like house sitting and artistic commissions, I have taken advantage of food pantries in my neighborhood, lived communally for a month so as to prioritize rent payments, and received amazing support from my community, but it has sadly not been enough to keep me afloat. Luckily, I am healing well and almost ready to start working again! Unfortunately, I have to find a new job, as my previous employers were not able to guarantee me hours after 2 months unable to work.
I am asking for help from my community to rebuild and get back on my feet. This money will go towards paying back rent that has accrued while I’ve been without income, and helping to cover groceries while I find a new job.
In all honesty, I feel very uneasy asking for funds at a time when inflation and ballooning housing costs are making life more expensive for everyone. I had hoped to avoid this, but at this point am at a loss for options. If you have anything to spare, know that it will be going toward absolute necessities as I try everyday to rebuild the life I was living before the accident. Thank you so much to anyone that can share or contribute, and always wear your bike helmet!
