William Lee Strait Jr., known to friends as Willie, is someone who has always put others first. In the short time I’ve known him, he’s shown a generosity and kindness that’s rare—always offering to help, no matter how little he has. Willie’s heart of gold has touched many people, and now he needs our help more than ever.

In the early morning hours of June 13th, Willie’s life was turned upside down. A neighbor set fire to his campsite, destroying everything he owned. As if losing all his belongings wasn’t enough, Willie was then chased down and brutally attacked with a large knife. He suffered multiple stab wounds to his arms and head, and the tip of the knife remains lodged in his skull. Willie’s attacker is now incarcerated, facing serious charges due to the violent nature of the assault.

Willie lost everything in the attack—even his shoes had to be thrown away because they were soaked in blood. On top of losing all his possessions, he now faces significant medical bills and a long road to recovery. Willie urgently needs clothing, shelter, transportation, food, and help with medical bills as he works to rebuild his life. Any support, whether financial or through prayers, will help Willie get back on his feet and remind him that kindness is never forgotten.
