Help Willie “Trae” Bell III on His Road to Recovery

On Wednesday, October 15, in West Chicago, Willie “Trae” Bell III was struck by a distracted driver while sitting at a red light. The driver was traveling upwards of 50 miles per hour, never looked up or hit the brakes.

The impact was devastating. Willie spent days in the ICU and is currently still admitted. He is suffering with blurred/double vision, a concussion, memory loss, and paralysis on his left side from the neck down - symptoms doctors are still working to understand and treat.

Once released, Willie will be transferred to an in-patient rehabilitation center where he’ll undergo extensive therapy to regain strength, mobility, and full function. The road ahead will be long — not only for him but for his growing family. Willie is determined to recover.

Trae is a talented stunt coordinator and stunt actor. Additionally, Willie is a voice actor and motion capture athlete with EA Sports (Madden, NCAA video games productions}. Willie is planning a wedding in early 2026, is a devoted father of three, recently welcoming Willie Bell IV three weeks ago.

Willie is a former Jackson State University football player and #THEE FIRST third generation linebacker from this prestigious HBCU.

With months of recovery ahead, he will be unable to work, creating a significant financial strain on his family.
