My name is Jami and I am starting this for a sweet man I met whose story touched my heart, named William Hollis.
William and his family have been drowning in medical bills after he fought cancer and is dealing with other medical issues in the last 6 years. In 2020, William was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and was given 2 years to live. During treatment, it was discovered he was allergic to the chemotherapy, which meant he would not be able to receive that treatment. In 2025 he had prostate issues where he had to use a catheter for many months. Both him and his wife’s retirement/savings are gone after attempting to pay off as much as they could. However, they still have a lot left they owe.
Because of all the treatment he received all those years, William is in pain constantly and uses a breathing cap that makes each day a struggle. Yet he remains positive, happy, and expresses how blessed he is in life after just celebrating his 61st birthday.
Unfortunately, the tumor is still there and the cancer could come back at any time, so he is not in the clear.
William and his wife started a FacebookMarketplace where they are selling many items as a little side business to help pay off the bills as they are not ones to ask for money. Even with her job, their insurance, and the side business, they still cannot keep up with the bills. The creditors are demanding more than what they have been able to pay each month.
I know they could use the extra help to slow down and actually enjoy Williams life and celebrate his fight/recovery to this point.
I wanted to share Williams story as it touched my heart when I met him after purchasing one of his items and picking it up in person. In the short interaction I had with him, I felt called to do something to help.
William is the sweetest man I have ever met. I saw an angelic light in him that makes me want to be around him more. The encouraging words he spoke to me, felt as though God was speaking to me through him. I know anyone who encounters him or knows him would agree with me, and is also blessed by his presence.
With that being said, let’s show William that he has a whole community who is willing and able to help. He should not and does not have to fight this alone.
Thank you to everyone who gives, shares this, or even just sends well wishes and prayers to William.
