Hey y'all

I'm struggling with severe osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis, and require urgent lumbar fusion and tissue removal surgery to regain and maintain my ability to walk, teach, access transportation and even just play my guitar.

Because of this medical situation, I have wrestled with the ability to work for the financial resources to access residential reentry after the surgery. This medical crisis is compounded by the reality of semi sheltered homelessness and a lack of personal transportation, creating a precarious path toward physical and financial stability. But, there is a plan.

Restoring my health is the first step toward returning to a career in secondary education. While I hold teaching credentials in Washington and California, I faced professional hurdles in Washington and I am looking toward Sonoma County CA for likely substitute work in familiar schools. That's an important step to personal and financial recovery. But I can't do it without your help.

Contributions to this fundraiser will directly fund life-altering surgery aftercare and provide the stability needed to secure housing and transportation, ultimately allowing me to return to the classroom, musical aspirations and regain my financial independence.
