My Journey with Tongue Cancer
Hi, my name is William Morales and I’m reaching out for support as I face one of the most challenging times of my life.
Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with tongue cancer. On January 7, 2025, I underwent a major surgery with Dr. Makki and his amazing team at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs. They not only removed the cancer but also had to reconstruct my tongue using tissue from my arm. While I’m grateful the surgery was successful, the road to recovery is long.
The doctors have informed me it will take about a year before I can begin to regain a sense of normalcy. In the meantime, I will also undergo radiation treatment. This means I am unable to work in my marketing job, which involves being on the phone all day—a task I can no longer manage.
As a husband and homeowner, it’s devastating to find myself in a position where I can’t support my family the way I’ve always strived to. My short-term disability income is only $500 per week, and after taxes, child support, social security, Medicare, and health insurance, I’m left with just $100. This is not nearly enough to cover living expenses, medical bills, and day-to-day needs.
I am humbly asking for your support to help my family and me navigate this difficult time. The funds raised will go towards medical expenses, household bills, and ensuring that I can focus on my recovery without the overwhelming stress of financial insecurity.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and considering helping me during this journey. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement means the world to us.
Sincerely,
William Morales
