William is a kind man who spends his afternoons on the corner of Hagen Ranch and Atlantic Ave with his loyal dog, Louie. Despite facing homelessness, William’s main concern is Louie’s health. Louie has a condition called cherry eye in both eyes, which requires surgery that William simply can’t afford on his own. Every day, William holds a paper sign, hoping for enough kindness from passersby to help his best friend.

The cost of Louie’s surgery for both eyes is significant, and William also dreams of having a clean, safe place for them both to recover after the procedure.
