With my first day of class starting less than 1 month away and having had exhausted all known resources of financial aid, I need my community's help.
Continuing and even furthering my education has always been something of a solo endeavor. Through it though, I realized I wasn't the greatest at holding myself accountable nor could I go as far as fast as I desired.
Early June of this year, I was reintroduced to the power and momentum of the tech world and this idea of bootcamps. By mid July, I was fully convinced and had applied and was accepted into one of the top tech schools in the twin cities area.

For those of you who don't know, my name is William King, I'm 29 years old and I'm the father of two beautiful little girls and the husband to a stay-at-home wife/ proud home-schooling mother. More than anything, I take great pride in my responsibility and role as the provider for my family. Now, with such a position comes a great feeling of purpose and fulfillment and if I'm being honest, many challenges. Along the way life tends to happen and when it does and going get a little tougher, as the old adage goes, "The tough get going" .
Here's my story
For the past 4+ years I've been a blue-coller laborer, working in H-VAC, doing Specialty Cleaning. I've learned a lot and gained a ton invaluable experience. However, with some financial strain due to this line of work being more inconsistent this year than in previous year, I've been in search for the right time and right field to make my pivot.
Taking all the necessary steps to search out a quality school; checking testimonials, speaking with some graduates, and reading reviews; one school in particular caught my attention. Prime Digital Academy! So, I put in my application for enrollment, passed the admission test, nailed the interview and got accepted.
With a small win and a giant step toward a new future, I still needed to find funding. Making calls and sending emails lead to some success, but still left me with a lot of ground to cover. I don't live in the right city in the county, I am employed and, according to the state and last years taxes, I'm not living below what they would consider the poverty line to qualify for the scholarships or grants that i came across. With predatory money lenders and few financial resources, I'm left with leaning on my close friends and family to help me to cover as much of the cost as possible.
So, today I'm asking for your help to subsidize life.
My start date at Prime Digital Academy is October 3, 2022 with an anticipated graduation date of April 21,2023. The total cost is $17,000, but with a $1,000 grant from BLMintech, and PDA's $500 grant. My remaining balance is $15,500. Another great contact from Urban Ventures has access to mini grants and can have my laptop and other supplies paid for.

With wanting to take some financial responsibility for my own education, I've decided not to ask for help funding my entire program, however I am truly grateful for all the aid I can get.
P.S.; I have not completely ruled out scholarships or grants, so if you have information you'd encourage I look into, please feel free to share.
