HELP WILL WALK
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Maryellen; I'm fundraising for my nephew Will.
This is an update on his progress since returning to Illinois in September.
• As most of you know, WILL BOOTH, an active runner and cyclist, suffered a traumatic brain injury while riding his scooter on June 26, 2022. The accident happened in LA where Will was working and living with his girlfriend Norah.
• His brain sustained a massive injury and he spent 3 months between Neuro ICU and an Acute Care facility in LA. He was then put on a medical flight to Chicago where he spent a month in Inpatient rehab at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab. He was released to his parent's home near Chicago to continue long-term Outpatient rehabilitation.
On November 30, Will finally had surgery to replace the large piece of his skull that was removed immediately following his accident. He suffered a brain bleed and several seizures following surgery but he was stabilized and spent 10 days in the Neuro Unit at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
On December 9, Will was transferred back to Inpatient care at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab where he is expected to stay until after the first of the year.
Once Will is released again from In-Patient care, he will resume Outpatient therapy at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Burr Ridge. Again, expensive medical transport will be required to transport him to therapy 5 days per week for Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy.
Will has recently been terminated from his job as a managing consultant; he was able to COBRA his health insurance but out-of-pocket costs continue to skyrocket.
• Please consider a donation to help Will get back on his feet, back to work and back to an active lifestyle.
THANK YOU!
