Help Will Mayberry Rebuild After Tragic Car Fire

What a long week. I really want to thank everyone for helping me with this life changing event through GoFundMe and personally contacting me.

Although those around me at the time might not have seen it outwardly, I was hiding a full on despair. A hopelessness I’ve never felt.

I can’t express how much all the kind words, encouragement, and donations turned my attitude around. I lost many irreplaceable things, but knowing you have a supportive surrounding can’t be lost.

Thank you Kathleen for organizing the GoFundMe soon after my life changed in an instant. Matt and Brie for rescuing me and Dexter, driving so long and far in the middle of the night in the Mojave Desert. Aimee for helping notify immediate family members and driving me the rest of the way (even though I drove and you slept ). Angeline for letting me stay at your house while I complete my final job interviews. And everyone, family, friends, and even friends of friends/family that gave so that I can get back to my new normal. Aimee, the kids, and I are so grateful and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Dear Friends and Community,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to ask for your support in helping my brother-in-law, Will Mayberry, rebuild his life after a devastating accident. He has been planning and saving for a long time to move from Missouri to California to reunite

with his children, aged 7 and 6. This move was a dream come true for him, and he was eager to start a new chapter with his kids.

Unfortunately, his journey took a devastating turn as he was driving through the scorching Mojave Desert, where temperatures soared to 130°F. His car suddenly caught on fire, forcing him to make a desperate escape along with his faithful dog, Dexter. While we are incredibly grateful that both he and Dexter emerged unscathed, the fire consumed his car, all of his belongings, and Dexter's food and toys.

The loss of his car and possessions is a significant setback. He is currently stranded in the desert, far from his destination, with no means to continue his journey or start his new life in California.

We are asking for your generosity and support to help him get back on his feet. The funds raised will be used to:
