On Saturday, July 6, 2024, the Price family lives completely changed, and this day will forever be remembered. Our family suffered a tremendous tragedy when our home in Garysburg, NC burned down. At the time of the fire my brother Will, was traveling to spend time with my family for the week, when he received a phone call from a relative informing him that his house was on fire. When the fire started, my father and his long-time girlfriend were in the home. By the time the fire department had arrived, the fire had engulfed the entire home and both occupants had to be transported to local area hospitals. Our father, Will Price Sr., succumbed to his injuries on July 10, 2024, leaving Will Price Jr. to live alone for the first time in his life. Having some learning and developmental disabilities, Will Price Jr. will need a lot of love & support to continue to live on the land that our father fought so hard to keep for his family. We were able to salvage some personal belongings from the home, but most of them are heavily smoke damaged and likely will be a total loss just like the home. Will immediately needs housing, clothing, living expenses, meals and much more over the next stage of his life as he now has to navigate and learn how to live on his own for the first time in his life.
