Help Will Black Get To Dialysis

Donation protected
Our good friend Will has struggled with serious health issues since he was a child. As an adult, he suffered kidney failure. After 5 years of waiting on the transplant list he was finally lucky enough to receive a kidney transplant in 2014.

Will was doing wonderful after the transplant. He got married, had a beautiful daughter Laila, and was finally able to work a full time job. After about 4 years, his body began rejecting the new kidney and he began having complications. This meant he had to go back on dialysis and he had several long hospital stays. Of course this impacted his ability to work, and he lost his job.

He is now back to receiving dialysis 3 times per week.  Although he already had a kidney transplant, he was able to be put back on the transplant list. He has now began the long wait, hoping for a match and praying it happens soon so he can be the father that he wants to be for his daughter. He does not expect charity and doesn’t ask for handouts. Will has always held jobs over the years but between his limited schedule with dialysis and frequent long stays in the hospital it has been hard to maintain those positions.

It took a long time, but he was able to save up enough to get an affordable vehicle to go to dialysis every week. He had the car for less than a month. Last week it was vandalized and totaled while being parked on one of the streets in Philadelphia during the unrest.

Besides the need for a new kidney, the issue is the dialysis. Utilizing public transportation three times a week to get back and forth had become almost impossible. The distance from where he lives and where he has to go for his treatments costs him $27-30 each way if he’s forced to use Uber.

Will is not one to ask for help and he is always there for everyone else around him in his life. We are looking to raise just enough to try and get him some reliable transportation back and forth to dialysis. He will also then use it to take his daughter back and forth to school. Any financial help would be greatly appreciated! And we are also asking for your prayers.
