Hi, I’m Krystle, a close friend of Melissa’s. We attended Syracuse University together where we first met, became friends, later roommates, and from there the rest is history. In college, Melissa started with early signs of an autoimmune disease that went undiagnosed/misdiagnosed for years. By the time she was finally diagnosed with Lupus, her health had already started to significantly decline. Despite her health challenges, Melissa pushed forward with life, working hard to build a life for herself and her husband Will and later their miracle daughter Sofia. She remained a good support to her friends and maintained a full-time job despite all the challenges her health presented. Melissa was a force to be reckoned with. If there was a challenge, she was going to do her best to overcome it. She loved and cared deeply for her friends and family. If you were loved by her, you felt it in more ways than one.
Sadly and very suddenly, Melissa passed away on the morning of October 7th, 2025.
Melissa leaves behind her beautiful daughter Sofia (4) and her husband Will, along with countless friends and other extended family.
Will is suddenly having to single parent, manage bills on one income, and plan how he will celebrate and honor Melissa’s life. No one should have to grieve alone or worry about financial burdens when losing a loved one.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a monetary donation to help support Will and Sofia.
