This past January, I achieved my dream of owning a home after bouncing from one temporary refuge to another for nearly 10 years. That same month, I lost one of my two jobs, had my hours at my other job cut, and began suffering car problems that have cost me thousands of dollars. As a result, my elderly mother and I have gone from having stability for the first time in a decade to the edge of homelessness again as I've gotten behind on my mortgage payments, HOA fees, and other monthly bills.
I owe $3400 on my mortgage and over $1000 on HOA fees, both due by the end of the month, or else the bank will initiate foreclosure and the HOA super will take it to attorney. This past week, I've been rehired at my second job, though my hours at the first are still cut. If I can pay off these bills, I'll be back to square one and able to budget for monthly payments again. I've set the target for $5000 to account for GoFundMe's fees, further ongoing car repairs, and other monthly costs such as insurance and groceries.
My mother and I can't go back to living off of friends and relatives or staying at cheap motels. We need this refuge, this stability. If you can help us, either by donating or just boosting this fundraiser online, we would be so thankful.
Gratefully,
Will "Filbi" Staples
