Help Wiles Chorus to Carnegie Hall
Donation protected
How do you get to Carnegie Hall? You practice! That is exactly what our fourth and fifth grade chorus students have done this year - and it has certainly paid off!
Kimball Wiles Elementary School (Gainesville, FL) is proud to announce that our Wildcats Chorus has been invited to perform in the National Children's Festival Chorus at Carnegie Hall on June 19, 2017!
Over the last five years, Kimball Wiles Elementary School has had 30 students selected for the Florida All-State Elementary Chorus and Orff ensembles. With this accomplishment, our chorus gained the attention of Manhattan Concert Productions, a company that organizes concerts at Carnegie Hall. The group contacted the school’s Music Director, Carrie Olson, to request a choral audition, which resulted in an offer to perform at the festival this June. The performance at Carnegie Hall will be under the direction of renowned choral director, Emily Ellsworth.
Unfortunately, this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our choral students presents a rather large fundraising challenge. The program requires the students to be in New York City for three nights/four days to attend rehearsals and perform at the festival. The total cost for our participating choral members is $40,000 (this includes the cost of the flight, hotel stay, festival, and food for 25 elementary students). Due to the lengthy audition process this school year, and our recent acceptance, our chorus members are not allotted much time for fundraising. Your donation could help our choral students have the musical experience of a lifetime, and relieve some of the financial burden their families face in helping them get to Carnegie Hall. Anything you can donate would help.

Thank you in advance for your contribution and
continued support of Music programs in our public schools.
