In the United States, pre-exposure rabies vaccine average cost is $450 per dose, resulting in a cost to the patient of around $900 to get the complete series.

We have several rehabbers trying to get their pre-exposure rabies vaccinations to allow them to rehab rabies vector species. Unfortunately most health insurances will not cover the cost for this so they will have to pay out of pocket if they want to continue their journey.
