My name is Paula and I am a biologist interested in conservation and sustainability currently living on Eigg, a small island in Scotland. This month, I am inviting you to sponsor me to walk 200 miles from Knoydart to Cape Wrath, the most northerly point on the West Coast of Scotland and the hardiest walk in the UK. I am going to walk this challenging trail with my friend Felicia in solidarity with all those non-profit organizations that are having the hardest time due to the COVID situation.
For this reason, is that I would like to call for a donation in aid of the Bolivian conservation NGO Inti Wara Yassi, with which I will have the pleasure to be working for six months from October.
Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi (CIWY), for more than 27 years, through their sanctuaries have cared for rescued wildlife, worked in educational and training projects with local young people, and raised awareness about conservation issues. Working to end animal trafficking and, in the meantime, offer refuge to those animals who have fallen victim to it.
CIWY's sanctuaries rely heavily on volunteers for their daily work and a big part of their income, with their volunteer fees.
Unfortunately, like many others, the organization have been devastated by the effects of the pandemic but added to that, the politic disaster in Bolivia and a new wave of Amazon fires racing through the jungle at this very moment are making nature conservation effort more important than ever.
Solution
Your donations keep the animals safe, healthy and well-fed until the lockdown ends and volunteers can return to the sanctuaries.
Long-Term Impact
CIWY helps preserve the biodiversity of Amazonian fauna by rescuing a wide array of animals, including endangered species. CIWY also educates the local public to respect wildlife and value their natural environmental heritage.
Friends of Inti Wara Yassi (FIWY) is the UK branch of CIWY and over the years have helped to raise money to support this amazing organization's massive effort in species and land conservation and buy more land to set new sanctuaries.

Mi nombre es Paula y soy una bióloga interesada en conservación y sostenibilidad actualmente viviendo en Eigg, una pequeña isla en Escocia. Este mes, y en solidaridad con todas aquellas organizaciones sin fines de lucro que están pasando por momentos difíciles debido a la situación de COVID -19, os invito a que me patrocineis para caminar 300 km hasta el punto más al norte de Escocia ( desde Knoydart hasta Cape Wrath) y la caminata más dura de las islas británicas.
Pido vuestro apoyo para la ONG boliviana Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi(CIWY), con la que tendré el placer de estar trabajando durante seis meses a partir de octubre.
CIWY lleva más de 27 años cuidado vida silvestre rescatada, trabajado en proyectos educativos con los jóvenes locales y creando conciencia sobre temas de conservación a través de sus santuarios. Trabajando para acabar con el tráfico de animales y, mientras tanto, ofrecer refugio a aquellos animales que han sido víctimas de él.
Los tres santuarios de CIWY dependen en gran medida de la llegada de voluntarios internacionales y una gran parte de sus ingresos, viene de los paquetes de voluntariado que ofrecen sus santuarios.
Desafortunadamente, como en muchos otros casos, la actividad y el personal de la organización ha quedado reducida al mínimo como consecuencia de la pandemia. A esto se suma además el conflicto social y político en Bolivia, más una nueva ola de incendios amazónicos que recorren la selva en este mismo momento. Esto hace que los esfuerzos de conservación de la naturaleza sean más importante que nunca.
Solución
Vuestras donaciones ayudarían a mantener a los más de 500 animales rescatados seguros, sanos y bien alimentados hasta que finalice el encierro y los voluntarios pueden regresar a los santuarios.
