Wildewood was born from a shared dream, to create a place in the Gunnison Valley that serves delicious, thoughtfully crafted sandwiches, while also serving as a welcoming space for people to connect. What began as an idea between friends grew into a vision that I am deeply committed to seeing through, even after the heartbreaking loss of Marcos, my dearest friend who helped shape this dream with me. He was known throughout the community as "Chef" and he passed away on April 30th just before we gained access to our new space.

Continuing to open Wildewood is my way of honoring his life, love, and vision we shared.

Wildewood aims to grow alongside the Gunnison community, helping cultivate the town’s evolving nightlife while also offering a warm, inclusive space to connect. With new bars opening, Gunnison’s nightlife has expanded, but there remains a gap for late‑night food. Wildewood seeks to fill that void while also offering catering for those heading out on adventures like climbing, fishing, paddling, and exploring the valley we love so much.

Beyond sandwiches, my long‑term vision is to create a community space, somewhere people can connect, refuel, and feel at home. A place rooted in good food, creativity, and shared experiences. Wildewood is meant to be more than a shop; it’s meant to be a gathering place built on heart and intention.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help cover my partners contributions and final steps of opening Wildewood. All donations will go directly toward these final expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings this dream closer to opening its doors.

I am a Colorado native and the name “Wildewood” comes from the road I grew up on in another small town in Colorado- Nederland. My inspiration stems from a love of adventure, living life, and a passion for food that brings people together.

Though this journey has changed, the dream remains, and I am committed to moving forward, opening Wildewood, and creating something beautiful that honors what we imagined together.
