Help Wilderley Take 'Curtain Call' Global
Donation protected
Hi, my name Wilderley Mauricette, the writer and director of "Curtain Call," a short film delving into the life of a young artist torn between gritty reality and the uplifting yet unsupported world of art. I immigrated to the United States from Haiti at eight years old, residing in tough neighborhoods with exposure to drugs, gangs, and violence. Discovering theatre in 2015 at Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe in Sarasota Florida transformed my trajectory, steering me away from potential troubles. I faced ridicule for my passion in an environment devoid of artistic appreciation. Through this film, I aim to honor the arts while weaving a compelling narrative, shedding light on the challenges faced by young Black men pursuing unconventional paths. It's a voice of reassurance, advocating for the fearless pursuit of one's dreams.
As recent film school graduates, we’re looking for your help to spread our film to as many film festivals as we can across the world. It’s an ambitious and costly endeavor currently resting solely on our shoulders. We appreciate any financial assistance to help us spread our film and our message.
THANK YOU!
