Help Wilder Recover from a NYC Subway Accident

Hello, my name is Melissa and I am Wilder's roommate and friend. Wilder is one of the most compassionate people I know. He is kind, helpful, hopeful, and full of life. On July 17th, 2025 within a few seconds his life changed after falling into the subway tracks of NYC. Thankfully, about four people were able to save his life right before a train came into the tracks. He fainted falling into the train tracks, face first, leaving him with:

Unfortunately, Wilder is uninsured and does not qualify for many health insurances. The hospital discharged him without proper medication, neck support, within hours of facing death, and in excruciating pain. It has been over 24 hours, and his symptoms are worse leaving us with no option but to seek support as all of his family resides in another country.

Wilder came to this country seeking a better future for himself, for safety as a gay man, and to build community. I hope that with your support, we can show him that he is not alone. That New Yorkers stand with one another as he navigates recovery without blood family but with the support from people that know and want to help him.
