Our founder, Debz, started making clothes her sons who as neurodivergents needed items that were soft without itchy seams and tags. This progressed to making items for family and friends.
Realizing there was a market for such items, Debz worked hard and eventually created Wilde Mode. The company is named after her beloved artist Grandad Leslie Wilde, as well as a nod to Oscar Wilde, and then 'Mode' as in the German word for fashion.
When giving an interview, Debz said “Having been on quite a journey myself, and on the brink of suicide, it feels great to have created a brand which has really made a difference to my client’s lives’, and to be helping them with their physical and emotional challenges. It’s so rewarding when I get feedback saying how much people love the underwear I’ve made and the effect it’s had on their day-to-day comfort and confidence. The underwear empowers people and symbolises who they are, and what they’re about, regardless of gender, size or sexuality.”
Born in 2018, Wilde Mode is a gender inclusive, body positive, eco-conscious brand creating bold, sustainable underwear, clothing, and accessories for all humans. We don’t do boring — we do you, proudly handmade with love (and a little mischief)!
Every piece is made to order from breathable organic cotton, with no tags, no harsh seams, and no landfill waste. Designed for comfort, made for real bodies.
They say “the market’s tough” but what they don’t say is this:
-The brands that actually care are the ones going under.
-Not the fast fashion giants.
-Not the ones stealing our designs.
-But the ones doing things differently. Slowly. Ethically. Inclusively.
And right now? That includes us.
If we don’t do something, Wilde Mode will have to close next month. End of. We tried everything the past 6 months to prevent this. Putting money into ads, new collaborations, offering some 3rd party items etc. but the reality is we are running out of pivots to do.
So if we’ve ever made you feel seen, please consider donating.
We’re not trying to guilt you.
We’re just trying to survive, for you, for us and we’d love to do it together.
