Help Wild Apache care for herself and her father
Donation protected
If you’re reading this, you probably know — or know of — my friend “Wild Apache.” She has been a force of nature, always out there living her life out loud and fighting the good fight online, including on Tribe.net, Facebook, and other social media accounts, as well as being a good friend and neighbor, and striving to be an independent voice, wherever she happened to be. And now she needs our help.
Over this past year, Wild has experienced deteriorating health, unable to keep up her income, while also being the sole caregiver for her father. And while she has had emotional support from her online community, it has been difficult for her to get — even ask for — the physical and financial help that she also needs.
Recently, Covid-19 nestled its thorny cells into her body and she ended up in a serious health crisis, including having problems breathing and unable to perform normal daily functions. She ended up in the ER, eventually being admitted to the hospital, where she was also diagnosed with Bone Marrow Failure (BMF). According to the Cleveland Clinic, BMF is when bone marrow can’t produce enough platelets, red blood cells or white blood cells. The main symptoms include bleeding, bruising, and fatigue. Treatments include blood transfusions and stem cell transplant. BMF increases risk of other conditions and needs lifelong treatment ( Cleveland Clinic ).
Wild is now home from the hospital and currently has access to much-needed oxygen and is recovering from Covid, however, she is still the sole caregiver of her father and still needs to be able to take care of herself. She needs respite care, help with housekeeping and other needs for herself and her father. She will also need help with transportation getting to and from bi-weekly blood transfusions and help figuring out her life going forward.
I am setting up this GoFundMe account for Wild so that she has access to funds to help her with her transportation as well as for home health, respite care, and housekeeping needs that she and her father require.
If you decide to donate, please know that these funds will be helping Wild in her day-to-day functioning, and also help her care for her father.
