Help Wil Recover from a Traumatic Attack

Hello everyone,

We are reaching out on behalf of our amazing uncle, William, who recently went through an extremely horrible event. On Thursday, October 17th, at 3:45 in the afternoon, while he was waiting at a walk signal in town square, he was randomly attacked and assaulted by a homeless man. This unexpected violent act has left him with serious injuries, and he now faces a long road to recovery.

His injuries include a deep cut to the face, a cracked tooth, and severe damage to his leg. After a thorough evaluation, his doctor confirmed that while he doesn’t need surgery, he has major torn ligaments, a cracked tendon, an ACL tear, and a tibial plateau fracture. He has been advised to stay completely off his leg for at least 8 weeks to give it time to heal. This means he won’t be able to return to work until mid-December at the earliest.

Our uncle has always been a resilient, independent person, and it’s hard for him to be in this position. His husband, Michael, recently suffered a stroke which resulted in the loss of his employment and furthermore their medical insurance. They are now having to face more unexpected medical bills and physical therapy costs on top of living expenses.

We are starting this GoFundMe to rally support from anyone who can help make this difficult time a bit easier for him.
