My name is Dave, and I am a close friend of Joannie, a very kind, caring and compassionate woman with the voice of an angel who would do just about anything to help anyone. I started this fundraiser with the hope of raising the necessary funds to allow Joannie and her two greyhounds to continue living in their home. The home that she and her husband shared for many years, and where she had been his caregiver until he passed away in July 2020.
Since his death, Joannie has faced numerous emotional and financial obstacles. Armed only with her faith, supportive friends and a modest income she overcame most of them. One of them, a loan her husband took out, has proven impossible for her to conquer. After refusing to work with Joannie on payment arrangements this bank chose to foreclose on her home. It was a relatively small debt. Now that legal fees (and she has to pay the bank’s legal fees as well as her own) and higher interest rates have been added, the amount she needs is almost double the initial debt!
Joannie is a smart person who sees a positive side to everything, but will rarely ask for help, even now, when she needs it the most. She has until the beginning of August to pay the bank, otherwise her home will be sold at a Sheriff’s auction and leave her and her two dogs homeless. Any sized donation will be greatly appreciated. None is too small. If you are unable to donate at this time please share this story with family and friends. That is a donation in itself. Thank you for caring enough to read this story and for sharing it with others.
