Drunk Driver Totaled Our Cars & Hit Our Home — Baby Due in 3 Weeks

On the morning of August 23rd, 2025, our lives were turned upside down.

At 7:14 AM in Wichita, KS, a drunk driver — with no license or insurance — lost control, slammed into a tree, and then crashed directly into the side of our home and two parked cars. My husband just got off of a 12 hour shift and was about to fall asleep when we heard a huge crash and our home shook.

Here’s what we’re now facing:

Both of our cars were totaled.

Our iron fence was destroyed in multiple places.

Part of our front brick of our home is damaged and needs to be replaced.

Our concrete stair was badly scratched and will have to be redone.

The driver had no insurance or license, and police also found a crack pipe in the vehicle.

His friends arrived on scene and told us they knew he was wasted and let him drive anyway.

We’ve filed three insurance claims (two for the cars, one for the house), but we're now on the hook for:

$4,500 in Deductibles

Remaining payments on my husband’s car loan (he still owes on his and doesn’t have gap insurance)

Future insurance increases due to the claims

New car seats

Missing work for 2 days due to no way to get there

Insurance on rental car, we finally got one car 08/27/2025 due to insurance but they do not cover insurance on the rental..

And if that wasn’t enough… we're expecting a baby in less than 3 weeks.
