I’m making this fundraiser on behalf of my neighbor’s dog, Whiskey, a 6-year-old Great Dane with the sweetest soul and the biggest personality.
If you’ve ever met Whiskey, you know she’s the definition of a gentle giant and bona fide socialite. She still has puppy energy, loves absolutely everyone, and somehow manages to make friends with every creature she meets. Her neighborhood inner circle includes Gus the squirrel, Peter the rabbit, Jack her boyfriend (her other neighbor’s dog), and basically the entire neighborhood.
But right now, Whiskey is in constant pain.
She urgently needs bilateral knee surgery that insurance unfortunately won’t cover. Her knees are bone-on-bone, and even simple things like walking to eat, going outside to pee, or taking a few steps can make her yelp in pain.
She can’t go on walks anymore.
She can’t visit her friends.
She can’t run around and be the happy, goofy dog everyone knows and loves.
And honestly, seeing such a social, loving dog suddenly lose her quality of life has been heartbreaking.
Her mom (my neighbor, bestest neighbor) is doing everything she can to help her, and I wanted to create this fundraiser to help take some of the financial weight off their shoulders and give Whiskey the chance to move comfortably again.
We’re hoping to raise $20,000 to help cover her surgeries, recovery, rehab, medications, and ongoing care.
Our goal and dream is simple:
Help Whiskey walk again.
Help Whiskey see her friends again.
Help Whiskey frolic again.
Whiskey deserves more good days. More walks. More time with her friends. More chances to just be a dog again.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even just send some love, it would mean so much to Whiskey and the people who love her.
Any funds not used directly for Whiskey’s care will be donated to Goodest Great Dane Rescue or another suitable foundation to support our goodest doggos.
And for transparency, we will update with bills, Whiskey's journey, and proof of donation for whatever is left!
Thank you so, so much!
