My name is Gloria, and I am from Darliston, Westmoreland, Jamaica. Because of Hurricane Mellisa, which passed through Jamaica a few days ago, many homes and lives have been lost. In Westmoreland, countless families-including my own-are now without shelter, struggling to find a place to live. We are trying to raise money so that the people of Westmoreland can rebuild their homes, repair roads and get food to help them through the difficult times ahead. Many people have lost their jobs and are unable to work. Schools are no longer im session because many buildings have been destroyed, along with churches and grocery stores. Countless residents are now worried about how they will afford the necessities they need with no source of income.
