Hello! We are fundraising for our dear friend Wesley's top surgery. If you're reading this, you probably already know how life-changing gender-affirming surgery can be for trans people. After being initially told by his state insurance that his top surgery would be fully covered, Wes was able to have a consultation with his surgeon of choice and get approved for the procedure. Unfortunately, he soon found out that the insurance company gave him incorrect information, and in fact he will be required to pay the max out of pocket charge for the year, around $8,000.

Our first goal of $4,200 is due on November 4th, two weeks before his surgery date of November 18th. As we approach the surgery date we will raise the goal to $8,000 to cover the remainder of the fee. Wes has luckily been able to save up enough money to cover lost wages for the two weeks of recovery.

In the past few years, Wes has dealt with housing instability and homelessness and is finally in a place with safe housing and support from chosen family to commit to this surgery that will greatly improve his quality of life. Wes is a generous and loyal friend, always helping others even when he is at his lowest, and we know he will pay forward whatever generosity he receives once he is recovered and thriving after this gender-affirming procedure.
