Hey I am Misty, proud Mimi to Wesley Jr. and Isaiah Richer. I have created this GoFundMe for those who have reached out to my son and daughter in law Wesley and Emily asking how they can help.

On March 27, 2024, Wesley and Emily Richer welcomed their identical twins at 26 weeks and 4 days. Emily labored for less than 2 hours and was unable receive any steroids to assist the twins with lung development. The twins have been developing all on their own with the help of Carilion NICU staff.

Twin A is Wesley Jr. he was born weighing 2 lbs and 2 oz. Since he has been born he has received 3 doses of surfactant, 3 blood transfusions, and over 6 different antibiotics. He is currently battling sepsis and meningitis. He has been on 3 different invasive ventilators, 1 surgery, and daily X-rays. He has a grade 4 brain bleed which the outcome will not be known while he’s in the NICU.

Twin B is Isaiah, he was born weighing 1 lb and 14.5 oz. Since he has been born he has received 3 doses of surfactant, 3 blood transfusions, over 3 different antibiotics, daily X-rays, and has been on a ventilator. He has a grade 4 brain bleed with hydrocephalus and a shifted ventricle. His long term diagnosis from this is unknown while he is in the NICU.

Wesley and Emily have both used most of their time in the first few weeks. They are returning back to work to save as much time for when the twins come home. This makes it hard for one of them to be with the twins. Ideally they would like Emily to be available at all times. They do have insurance but are seeking financial help for the following medical bills, bills, gas, food, and childcare expenses. They also had not purchased any baby items for the twins as they were preparing for another 10 weeks before their arrival. Each day in the NICU is around 3,000 to 20,000 per day. They are both estimated to stay to their due date which is 06/29/2024. This would be over 97 days each.

Overall they believe the power of prayer can help heal their twins brains, lungs, and infections. They have seen god work in their lives already. They desire prayers the most.
