Help Wesley Beat Cancer
Donation protected
As many of you have already heard, a few days before Christmas, Roland and Jade Haskins’ four-year-old son, Wesley, was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma—a rare and aggressiveform of cancer. The initial diagnosis was that the cancer was “high risk” but with subsequent pathology findings, the diagnosis has been adjusted to intermediate risk. His prognosis is one of guarded optimism. Wesley began treatment immediately after his diagnosis and has a long road ahead of him. He has so far withstood the rigorous regimen, both emotionally and physically, which is expected to stretch across 12 months. In fact, the little guy has so charmed the doctors, nurses, and staff that the hospital has chosen him to be the 2024 Anthem Lemonade ambassador.
The news of Wesley’s diagnosis has understandably turned Roland and Jade’s world upside down, but they have shown remarkable courage and resilience throughout this most difficult time. We are in awe of all of them.
Even with two incomes and health insurance, there are many expenses associated with this illness including items not covered by insurance, travel expenses, and wages lost for days spent at the hospital with Wesley or caring for him at home since he can no longer attend preschool for fear of infection from other children.
We are reaching out to everyone who knows the Haskins’ family – and also to those of you who have responded with concern when learning of their situation. We deeply appreciate your support, whether through donations, sharing this page, or keeping Wesley and his parents in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for being a part of Wesley’s journey to beating this horrible disease.
