Hello Friends! This is Wendy Jo. I've been shooting my next LGBTQ feature film, Lucy is a Loser, with a small but mighty crew in Chicago! The footage is looking great! (See pics from the movie set below!)

I started this campaign because I need help raising $10,000 to cover cast, crew, gear, and location costs for the remaining shoot days and to get Lucy into the Editing Room! A juicy shout-out to the folks who supported the project via Seed & Spark last year! We're almost there!

This is my 4th indie feature, plus the Easy Abby series. (Watch movie trailers below). And every one of them features a dynamic queer female lead. Lucy is an especially personal story to me as it deals with complex childhood trauma and the ways it can seep into our later lives.

Now more than ever it's important to tell our stories in our voices and to support LGBTQ and female artists in general.

Lucy is a Loser, is about a 38-year-old queer singer/songwriter trying to get her mojo back after she loses her job, her sobriety, and the love of her life! When her Aunt gifts something to her in a will, Lucy reluctantly returns to her hometown to see what it is. It's a story about music, mundane beauty, and unlikely friendships. It's heartbreaking, funny, and weird. And sexy.

My last feature, Good Kisser, was also made on a microbudget. It still reached a global audience with a great film festival run before streaming on Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV, and Amazon Prime!
