My name is Wendy I am a 53 year old married mother of 4 with 3 beautiful and amazing grandchildren. My husband has always been a hard worker always doing whatever he needs to do and then some. We have both worked for what we have had nothing coming very easy. One of our children has Cystic Fibrosis which has come with its own challenges.
This last year has been the hardest yet as I have been told I have heart failure with my heart functioning at 10% I am now unable to work. This has devastated out family financially and we stand ro loose everything we have worked for. I am still waiting for disability with no money approved and then another 60 to 90 days before we would ever see financial relief.
After christmas our son with Cystic Fibrosis ended up in ICU not sure if he was going to make it through the night. Pneumonia, mersa in his blood, kidney failure and swelling on the brain. He is doing better and pulling through. With the hospital he was transfered to being an hour away I am spending most of my time at the hospital going home every other night. A few days ago my van blew a head gasket. That evening I was having my husband bring me back and drop me off and on his way home the rear end fell apart leaving him stranded on the side of the road till 1 in the morning.
I can not express how it feels to be completing this process but I truly don't know what we are going to do. I understand with the economy and everything increasing if you are unable to help. I would ask one thing, please at least use this as a cautionary tale protect your home in case of income being reduced, life insurance before you fall ill and make sure you show your love everyday because tomorrow is not promised.
