Help Wendy with Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Wendy started off 2022 with a bang. On January 1st, She was transported to the hospital with symptoms of a stroke. After extensive testing, bloodwork, multiple MRI’s, CT scans, and ultrasounds they found a mass in her brain. A tumor. News that you live your whole life hoping you won’t hear. She met with a Neurologist, a Neurosurgeon, an Oncologist, a Cardiologist, countless tech’s and PA’s, and was cared for by amazing nurses throughout the process. After all of the results came in, they scheduled a surgery to remove the mass 3 days after arriving at the hospital. The amazing Neurosurgeon and his team were able to remove the mass, and have sent it off to find out if it is cancerous or benign. She is now in the hospital recovering and awaiting her results.

The tumor was affecting the right side of her body. Now that the tumor has been removed, she is having complications with coordination on the right side. She is working daily with a Physical Therapist to regain her strength. We do not know how long her stay in the hospital will be. The therapists are recommending that she go to an inpatient rehab facility to gain strength and independence before she is able to go home. We do not know what supports she will continue to need when she is finally released to go home.

There are so many of you who have reached out to our family asking if there is any way you can help. We have felt all of your love and support through this very emotional time. As the stress and fog begin to clear, we have started to realize that the way Wendy will be helped the most is through donations to help assist her with all of her medical expenses. We are concerned about the overall scope of financial burden that lies ahead for her over the next 6 months. She currently lives on her own (With Max!) and works 2 jobs to pay her bills. She has already been out of work for a week with no clear return date in sight. While she has insurance, we know that the hospital bills will start coming in, along with the bills for the rehab facility, as well as her regular monthly bills.

We do not want her to be worried about bills right now because we really need her to focus all her energy on recovering and returning to the independent, amazing woman we all know her to be!

Any donations will be greatly appreciated as she navigates her new life as a Brain Tumor Survivor!

Our goal is to raise $20,022 for her to have a better middle and end to 2022.
