Wendy Wall has worked at the DHS Office in Baker City for over 25yrs, She Specializes in vocational rehabilitation helping Seniors and people w/ disabilities. In the beginning of march 2021 She started having stomach cramps and nausea. She went to see her physicians assistant Zach Allen at the Saint Alphonsus clinic in baker City, he prescribed her nausea and pain medications. Two weeks later she started throwing up every morning, she continued having these symptoms with them intensifying over time. She continued to see the Physician assistant with minimal results and extra medications. She had lost over 20lbs and She could barely eat. Friday May 29th she could no longer hold any food or liquid in her stomach. So I took her to the Boise Emergency room where they took Blood labs and a CT scan, and that is when they located a large mass on her Small intestine that had grown into her intestines and caused severe back up. They then had to do an emergent procedure to remove the mass which was about the size of half of a basketball The mass had grown into part of her colon. Her Incision to remove the mass is similar too a vertical c section. She had her procedure done on Friday Memorial day weekend which resulted in her Incision to be left open for a second procedure to reconnect the intestine on Sunday. The Mass had a biopsy done and found that she has stage 3 Large B Cell non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer she still has several masses that are around her heart and lungs weighing about 2lbs each and are not operable and can only be treated with chemotherapy and radiation she now has to heal from the inside out and has a chelostomy bag with several areas that need to have gauze packed in them to help the healing process. I am on Social Security and she is most likely unable to work for close to a year, with my disability it is very difficult to care for her and every day tasks, we are looking into a in home Care nurse but her insurance is having a difficult time locating one in our area that accepts providence health insurance. So we will need help with out of pocket expenses, we also have many of our bills coming up that my income alone Cannot fully cover We are both stressed and I am doing everything I can to help keep the stress minimal so She doesn't have to worry so much, her life is on the Line and that is more Stress than any one person should ever have to endure. If any one can help us we would be forever grateful. I know my beautiful wife would be more than appreciative of any and all help this community has been a huge part of her life and helping the community members has been a passion of hers for most her life. Prayers are very appreciative as well she said she can feel them helping the healing process and helping her stay strong.
