Help Wendy Save the Lives of Albino Children in Malawi
Donation protected
In southeast Africa is the country of Malawi which is bordered by Zambia, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Mozambique. Malawi is considered the 4th poorest country in the world. And in the heart of this country, is a woman by the name of Wendy Elerick. Wendy is a former resident of the Rogue Valley, but since 2016, she’s been living in Malawi on property she inherited after her mother passed.
Wendy is a Christian Pastor who does what her title suggests: she ministers to the children and the poor people who inhabit the community she lives in. Wendy is also a seasoned equestrian who was awarded the Jefferson Award for putting horses together with disabled children to aid these kids with the challenge of simply walking. Riding horses helps stabilize them and can help balance their equilibrium.
Wendy’s greatest fight is against evil in the form of human beings. Africans who are born albino are being murdered for their bones and other body parts which are sold and used in witchcraft and other rituals. The trafficking of albinos for their body parts and the trafficking of other children in Malawi is a fact of life, so the overall need is not only great, it’s urgent. Wendy helps as many people as she can, but she’s one woman doing this alone and what she needs is support and she needed it yesterday. Most of the albino children have disabilities, severe dental malformations, and most go blind by the time they’re in their late teens. In addition to helping albinos, Wendy feeds on average 500 people a week, mostly children, but due to the lack of funds, they’re often fed goat feed.
Your donations would be used to buy food for the local community members, much-needed medical supplies, repairs for her 2 aging vehicles which help transport food and people, building materials to shore up housing, shelters, care for the therapy horses and much, much more. No matter how much you can give, it’s more than Wendy has to keep fighting this ongoing battle. Your donations can make a world of difference in another person’s life. Do it for the children. Do it for the community. Do it for Wendy.
