Help Wendy Save Her Eyesight!

My name is Sandy Naragon and I started this Go Fund Me for my dear friend who needs our help. You never know why someone comes into your life, but over 40 years ago I met Wendy Diesz through her Aunt Carole. Wendy is a hairstylist, and my hairs needed styling! Little did we know that we’d lose Carole to cancer and our bond would grow into an amazing friendship.

Wendy is a self-less, hardworking, wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend and this is her story…

Her Story:

I have been struggling with severe dry eye syndrome due to limbal stem cell deficiency for the past 11 years. After enduring six surgeries and countless treatments, a new specialist has a plan to protect my eyesight. My journey began over a decade ago, and it has been incredibly challenging. Severe dry eye syndrome has caused significant damage, leading to a risk of blindness. My corneas have suffered severe burns from working with chemicals as a hairdresser for 47 years, and I am now dependent on specialized treatments to preserve my vision.

I have already undergone six surgeries aimed at draining my tears and improving my condition, and while these procedures have helped, they are not enough. I require scleral contacts, which will provide a protective layer for my corneas and help prevent further deterioration of my eyesight. Unfortunately, the contacts cost $5,000 and fitting for the contacts requires multiple office visits, each costing me $600 out-of-pocket, which I cannot afford.

Additionally, I have been using Vital Tears, a vital medication for my condition, which amounts to $1,600 a year, again paid out of pocket. To maintain my independence and continue working, I need your help to cover these essential costs.
