As many of you know, Wendy is a middle school math teacher at Waiakea Intermediate School, where she strives to help every single student in each of her classes. She is a Mother to 3 girls, with her youngest only 10 years old & the best nana to 2 sweet little boys.

 

On Saturday, April 30th, she was unexpectedly attacked by one of their dogs after trying to save their smallest family dog Rocky Boy who was being attacked. She was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where she received nearly 40 sutures in each of her legs. She has not been able to come home and be with her family due to a reoccurring fever, & some form of infection that Doctors are still trying to identify. She is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday, May 3rd, in hopes to remove some of the dead flesh, re-clean the wounds & repair her legs.

 

Rocky Boy is in critical condition at the pet hospital and we are all hoping that he will be able to make a full recovery.

 

Although Wendy is not one to usually ask for help, we are uncertain as to when she will be able to go home. This means we are also unsure if she will be able to return back to work before the school year ends. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, we are asking for donations to help cover her portion of medical bills, as well as the vet bill for Rocky Boy and any other additional expense that may come her way.
