My name is Jennifer , and I’m creating this fundraiser for my Aunt, Wendy Kearley. Wendy has lived with chronic illness since 1992 and has dedicated her life to advocating for others in similar situations. She has always been strong, resilient, and giving—even while housebound with multiple chronic conditions.
Now she needs our help.
Why This Matters
Wendy’s dental health has severely declined due to years of limited access to safe care. Because of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) and Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS), many standard dental options—like metal or synthetic implants, dentures, or routine dental environments—aren’t safe for her. She also developed Psoriatic Arthritis in 2017, which has caused systemic inflammation and repeated dental abscesses.
She has already suffered six abscesses since 2018.
She has one more tooth that must be removed and another that has broken too short to restore.
Her molars have 30+ year-old mercury amalgam fillings, which have decayed underneath and must be replaced with safer, biocompatible ceramic crowns.
Unfortunately, Canada’s new dental plan only covers fillings and extractions. It does not cover crowns, implants, or the type of specialized, non-toxic dentistry Wendy requires.
Without this care, her only option would be extraction after extraction—leading to pain, difficulty eating, and a drastic decline in her quality of life.
The Treatment Plan
Wendy’s trusted dentist, Dr. Ryan Thomas in Fall River, NS, specializes in treating patients with MCS and EHS in a scent-free, low-EMF environment. He has created a multi-appointment plan that includes safe removal of old mercury fillings, placement of ceramic implants, crowns, protective guards, and gum contouring.
The treatment will be administered over several months and costs $48,600 CAD. (See attached treatment plans from her dentist for details.)
This amount includes:
Ceramic crowns and implants (biocompatible, no metals or synthetics)
Safe removal of mercury amalgam fillings
Protective guards and home care kits
Multiple long dental appointments and specialized procedures
Travel expenses (her dentist is 140 km away, and public transportation isn’t an option due to her medical needs) an additional $1000.00.
Why Wendy Needs Your Help
Wendy has been medically disabled and isolated for over 30 years. She cannot work, and dental tourism is not possible. Insurance will not cover this treatment.
She has given so much of herself to others as a single mother, an advocate, a friend, and a fighter for people living with invisible illnesses. Now she needs a community to fight for her.
How You Can Make a Difference
Every donation, big or small, will bring Wendy closer to:
Living free from constant dental pain and infections
Being able to eat comfortably and safely again
Protecting her health from the worsening effects of untreated dental disease
Funds raised will go directly toward her dental care and safe travel costs to her appointments.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or networks. Spreading the word is just as valuable.
Thank you for helping Wendy regain her health, her smile, and her peace of mind. Together, we can make this possible.
