Help Wendy Rest in Peace
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Jamie, I’m writing on behalf of my late mother, Wendy. On the 24th of January, Mom went into the emergency room in Petersburg, VA, not knowing the chain of events that were about to unfold would lead to a sad and painful outcome.
Wendy was born January 7th, 1952, in Westerly, RI, and was a life long RI resident, with the exception of the last 3 years, when she sold her home in RI and ventured south and moved to Virginia.
Wendy was born into a family with 4 sisters and 3 brothers and grew up in a small town called Rockville. When she was 22, she married the man she’d spend over 30 years with, Robert Logan.
Together, Bob and Wendy had 3 children, me, and my 2 older brothers, Kelly and Daniel. Mom was also blessed to be a Nana to 2 wonderful granddaughters, Keira and Kamdyn.
As a family, we made wonderful memories of picking blueberries in the summer, swimming in the pool, sledding in the winter, spending time with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in nearby towns and communities. Dad sadly passed away in 2005.
I best remember Mom as someone who knew the tricks to life’s lessons, the stuff you don’t think about until you’re stuck in that situation and don’t know what to do. Just yesterday, my daughter lost the drawstring on her pants, and fixing that was something Mom taught me a long time ago. Simple yet useful things. She also was an avid gardener; she loved growing vegetables and could grow more vegetables than she knew what to do with; often she’d donate them or give them to family and friends. She also loved her puzzle books, she had an eye for hummingbirds, and she could crochet like no one else!
Mom becoming ill and her leaving this world so suddenly is still fresh, it still stings and it’s going to for a long time, if not for the rest of my life/our lives as her children. Her final wishes was to be cremated, and laid to rest with my father, her husband, at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI. Arrangements have been made and are being carried out currently with the Cremation Society of Virginia, who is taking care of Mom and will assist in getting her to her final resting place with Dad.
We all fall on hard times, and my family and I would be forever grateful to anyone that would be willing to donate towards the final expenses for my Mom, or to share my story to get it out there. I’m simply trying to get her home, get her where she belongs, with my Dad, to rest peacefully for eternity. I am grateful for any help, any shares, anything. Thank you for reading my story
