Help Wendy on Her Road to Recovery,
Life can change in an instant, and for Wendy, it did on Sunday, February 2nd. What started as an illness quickly escalated, leading her to seek medical attention at Urgent Care in Carroll on Wednesday. Upon arrival, her oxygen levels were dangerously low—just 50%.
Due to the severity of her condition, Wendy was rushed by ambulance to the ER, where doctors discovered that her body was becoming acidic, and her CO2 levels were alarmingly high. Despite oxygen treatments, her condition remained critical. It was then that she received the news no one wants to hear—she needed to be sedated and placed on a ventilator. That same evening, she was transferred via ambulance to Mercy in Des Moines for intensive care.
Wendy was diagnosed with RSV which escalated to double pneumonia. After several difficult days on the ventilator, Wendy has made incredible progress. The ventilator has been removed, and while she remains on oxygen, she is improving each day. However, the road to full recovery is far from over.
Wendy is a fighter, but healing takes time. Right now, she is unable to work, and the bills are already piling up. While she would never ask for help herself, we know how much she means to so many of us—and we know there is a strong community wanting to support her.
If you're able to donate, any amount will help provide Wendy with peace of mind as she focuses on regaining her strength. Your generosity will ease the financial burden, allowing her to heal without the added stress of mounting expenses.
If you’re unable to give financially, prayers, shares, and positive thoughts are just as valuable. Let’s rally around Wendy and show her the same kindness and support she has always shown others.
Thank you for being part of Wendy’s journey to recovery.
