Hi, everyone. I’m fund-raising to pay off debt incurred from my best friend, and guide dog, Zeke. He’s given me independence for so many years. He’s older now, and mostly retired. He won’t let me fully retire him. A few days without any kind of adventuring with me at all, and he gets mopey, stops eating his food, and just becomes sad and pathetic! Even though we’re limited to trips to the mailbox, walks around the block, and going into and out of buildings, and having him find things like sinks and elevators for me, he’s still such a trooper! He’s got a heart murmur, cataracts, a tumor in one eye whose pressure we’re keeping at bay with eye-drops, and a neuropathy which has, over the years, resulted in very weak hind legs. Still, after experiencing how much he’s taken care of me and been my buddy for so long, I cannot, and will not, abandon him when he needs me! I’ve never hesitated to pay for his heart meds, or his eye-drops, or his anti-inflammatories. But over time, my cards are maxing out. I was in the process of paying off my debt before these expenses became necessary, and with your help, I’ll get back to where I left off. I’m also working hard to come up with multiple sources of income to keep from sliding back to this point again—after all, his meds are still necessary. Every bit helps! And thank you so much in advance!
