In this uncertain life, many of us have been blessed to know Wendy, a true angel on Earth, who has touched countless lives with her kindness and love. I married Wendy 34 years ago.

We are asking for your support for Wendy as she battles stage IV metastatic colon cancer. She was diagnosed in late 2022 after she began having severe abdominal pain. And sadly, the tests and scans confirmed it was cancer, and had already metastasized to her liver, lungs and many lymph nodes.

In April of this year, she made the incredibly tough decision to discontinue chemotherapy treatments, as they started to cause severe medical issues that outweighed the benefits, and even landed her in the hospital. After many long discussions and lack of viable treatment options, we have been exploring more natural cancer alternatives for her instead. But unfortunately, this has compounded our financial issues even further, because natural treatments are not considered “standard of care” or covered by insurance.

So, we ask for your donation to help navigate the scary and expensive road ahead. Wendy remains her sweet and funny self, even a year into this uphill battle. After exhausting treatments, devastating ongoing pain and emotionally-draining tests, she still keeps hope in her heart and a smile on her face.

Wendy has always put others before herself, maintaining a positive and warm attitude that touches everyone around her. Her infectious smile, her down-to-earth country charm, her adoration of Keanu Reeves, and her instant love of every animal she meets are all part of what makes her uniquely "Wendy." For those who might remember her from her hometown of Fairborn, OH where she grew up, or from the many Coast Guard bases we traveled to during my military service, you know the warmth and light she brings.
