Help Wendy become a teacher!

Hi, my name is Danielle and I currently live in Guatemala. My husband and I recently had a baby and as we both have full time jobs, we needed to hire a nanny to help us. We were blessed to find Wendy who does an amazing job taking care of our son. Every day he is learning new things from her and it is evident that she has a passion for teaching others. As we got to know Wendy, I learned that she wanted to be a teacher. Seeing her with our son, I know she would be an incredible teacher who loves her students and cares deeply about their success.

 

Wendy and her sister are responsible for all of her family's bills. Her dad passed away years ago and her mother is very ill, not allowing her to work. I am inspired by the dedication that Wendy has to take care of her family. She wakes up at about 4am to take a moto, bus, and then walk to get to our house each morning. She often spends her weekends helping her mom get medicine she needs and taking her to doctor appointments. On this page, you will see a picture of Wendy (left) and her family. Every time Wendy talks about them, she speaks with such love. Wendy is always happy, thankful, and kind. God has truly blessed us with having her as our nanny and in return we hope to help her achieve her dream of becoming a teacher.

 

The school we would like to support her attending is Del Valle University in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She wants to complete the early childhood education program that is five years long. Del Valle has one of the best teacher programs, but it is a private school and Wendy is not able to afford it on her own. In addition to Wendy and our contributions, we are reaching out for help to fund her five year program. The total cost is about $10,000. We would like to start by raising funds for her first year. We then plan to do a fundraiser each year until she is able to finish the program.

 

Wendy shared with me that this is an opportunity she has only dreamed of. Help us make that dream come true and support this wonderful person!
